The Story
University Survivor is a comedy web-series that follows Beer Grylls as he travels to Universities across Europe to show students how to survive.
In this three-part series, we journey with Beer from the Northeast of England to the Southern tips of Ireland.
He'll face social isolation, 30 foot staircase drops and a freezing Atlantic Ocean to show students all the tricks they'll need to find food, build shelters, raise finances and thrive in the age-old tradition of courting.
It began with a ridiculous question: what would happen if a man who had survived jungles, deserts and mountain blizzards had to face something truly terrifying: UNIVERSITY. No helicopter, no rescue team, just a damp room, a rent demand and an energy bill that could frighten a grizzly. Bear Grylls had wrestled crocodiles and drunk things best left unmentioned, but nothing had prepared him for tuition fees, a shared kitchen or a flat where the heating was more of a rumour. In this series we took the survival-guide format and turned it upside down, the wilderness became a campus, and the cost of student life got the mockumentary treatment it deserved.
Screening at festivals from LA to London and from India to Chile, collecting awards and laurels along the way University Survivor shows people that in today’s day and age even a survival expert can lose to a student budget.
