Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 3 November 2026
First Step Films wants everyone to be able to use our website, including disabled people and people who use assistive technology.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, where reasonably possible. Our website is built on Squarespace, which provides a number of accessibility features. We try to:
Use clear headings and a logical page structure
Add descriptive text (alt text) to images
Keep text readable, with good colour contrast
Make our forms usable with a keyboard and screen reader
Use meaningful link text
Add captions to our own films and showreels [and provide transcripts on request]
Known limitations
We are a small organisation and our website has not been independently audited. You may find some issues, such as:
Some images may not have full descriptions
Some older videos may not have captions yet
Some PDFs or uploaded documents may not be fully accessible
Embedded content from other providers, such as video players, may not meet every standard
We are working to fix problems as we find them.
Other ways to contact us or apply
If any part of the website is difficult to use, we can help. For example, we can:
Accept your artist and crew application, script submission or enquiry by email or phone
Provide information in another format, such as large print or plain text
Talk you through any form
Email us at info@firststepfilms.co.uk, tell us what you need and which page or form you were using, and we will aim to respond within [5] working days.
Feedback
If you find an accessibility problem that isn’t listed here, please tell us at the same address. We take feedback seriously and use it to improve the site.
